Sipi Falls is often referred to as the most romantic spot in Uganda, but it’s also a hub for adventure. The main waterfall drops a staggering 100 meters, creating a continuous, refreshing mist that nourishes the lush, green surroundings.
Beyond the hikes to the falls, the Sipi area is famous for growing some of the finest Bugisu Arabica coffee in the world. A visit here perfectly combines scenic hiking, cultural immersion, and adrenaline—making it the ideal prelude or relaxing finale to your Mount Elgon climbing expedition.

The 3-Waterfall Hike
A guided 3-4 hour hike taking you through local communities, banana plantations, and steep paths to view all three distinct waterfalls. You can even walk behind the curtain of the second fall.
Coffee Farm Tour
Join local farmers to learn the entire process of cultivating Bugisu Arabica coffee. You will participate in picking, roasting, pounding, and finally brewing your own fresh cup of coffee.
Waterfall Abseiling

Need to Know Before You Go
Terrain & Footwear
The paths connecting the waterfalls can be steep, muddy, and very slippery due to the constant mist. Sturdy hiking boots with excellent grip are highly recommended for the waterfall hike.
Climate & Clothing
Situated at an elevation of around 1,775 meters, Sipi is pleasantly cool. Bring a light rain jacket for the spray from the falls and a warm layer for the chilly evenings at your lodge.

Sipi Falls is located in the Kapchorwa district, making it the perfect basecamp. We highly recommend spending 1-2 days here either before or immediately after your Mount Elgon climbing expedition.
