8-Day Margherita Peak Technical Expedition
Expedition Overview
Experience the ultimate East African mountaineering challenge. The 8-Day Margherita Peak Expedition is our flagship route, taking you deep into the heart of the mystical Mountains of the Moon. This carefully acclimatized itinerary is designed for fit hikers looking to cross permanent equatorial glaciers to stand on the third highest point in Africa.
Guided by our IFMGA-trained local Bakonzo experts, you will navigate through five distinct ecological zones—from thick tropical rainforests and bamboo groves to the surreal, prehistoric-looking giant lobelia valleys. Finally, you will rope up, don crampons, and traverse the Stanley Plateau ice fields to summit Margherita Peak (5,109m).
